Tales of Arise has many different Artes available for each character in the game. The vast majority of them are attacks used in combat to initiate, continue, or end combo strings. However, another system in Tales of Arise is Boost Abilities, which allows you to do various things.
There are two Boost Abilities, one being Boost Strikes and the other being Boost Attacks. Boost Strikes are flashy and very devastating team attacks where two members of your party pair up to deliver an all-out attack on an enemy. On the other hand, Boost Attacks are character-specific attacks that guarantee a knockdown on specific enemies, making each character feel unique and meaningful in each combat encounter.
Alphen
Alphen is a well-trained individual with the spirit and passion for getting things done, no matter the cost. Thanks to his Blazing Sword, Alphen can deliver a wide range of Artes and take on just about anything without batting an eye.
Furthermore, when mixing his unique Blazing Sword and Artes with his teammate’s specialties, Alphen and company can release some devastating combos that are equally as flashy as they are deadly. No matter what Alphen gets thrown at him, he always finds a way to succeed.

Before Alphen leaps high into the air, Shionne buffs him and his Blazing Sword, allowing him to deliver a deadly overhead strike after flipping through the air towards the target. After striking the target, a large explosion of fire occurs, scorching the surrounding area. |
| Supreme Altar |

As Alphen charges forward with his Blazing Sword, Rinwell casts Lightning, Wind, and Water Artes at the enemy that keeps pace with Alphen’s charge, ultimately coming to an end with a visual cacophony of color and destruction. |
Shionne
Shionne specializes in long-range engagements, especially against airborne enemies. Shionne also has many Support Artes that heal her teammates and even bring them back from death’s grip. Overall, Shionne’s role is more of a Support DPS, and she balances the two effortlessly.
Additionally, when Shionne mixes her expertise with her teammates’ traits, it makes for many fascinating and ruthless attacks that showcase how much of a threat she is to the opposition. Shionne’s ability to use a breadth of elemental Artes truly creates some of the most jaw-dropping Boost Strikes in Tales of Arise.

Rinwell
Rinwell is a Mage of Dahna and one of the last of her kind but possesses a plethora of devastating Artes that will instantly wipe the enemy off the face of the earth. Rinwell’s ability to charge and hold Artes allows her to experiment with Artes by mixing and matching them to her heart’s content. She can also steal the enemy’s Artes, which opens up a whole other door for her.
Due to Rinwell’s unique abilities, she can cast a wide range of Artes and wreak havoc on anyone (or anything) with the snap of a finger, and that shines through when she teams up with the party to deliver Boost Strikes that explode with color, personality, and mass destruction.

Law
Law is a hyper-aggressive brawler that delivers hard punches and kicks to his opponent with blinding speed and precision. Law’s hits are so powerful that he can break through heavy armor in a single blow, allowing him to open up the enemy’s weakness.
When Law mixes his strength and speed with his teammates’ abilities, they can form fascinating Boost Strikes that will leave the enemy in shambles. Everything Law is involved in is a can of you-know-what delivered at breakneck speeds.

Kisara
Kisara is one of the strongest guards on Dahna and easily one of the best characters in Tales of Arise. While she possesses a handful of incredible Artes, Kisara shines the most when she demonstrates her raw strength and will to protect those close to her.
Thanks to Kisara’s brute strength and tower shield, she can stop charging enemies in their tracks, no matter the size. Additionally, whenever she teams up with another party member to deliver a Boost Strike, it’s always a proper display of her potential and showcases her strength to the world.

Dohalim
Dohalim is a Renan Lord with elegant clothes and weapons, but he also has access to many unique and powerful Artes as a result. Dohalim’s nimbleness allows him to move about the battlefield with grace, enabling him to catch the faster enemies off-guard to ensnare them in a trap.
Furthermore, Dohalim possesses many Artes that take advantage of the dark element, which he mixes expertly when pairing them with a party member to perform a Boost Strike. Dohalim offers a genuinely unique combat experience, which takes center stage in his Boost Abilities.
