The Embers of Neltharion patch in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight opens up the subterranean Zaralek Cavern zone. Chasing the Primalist forces as they search for new powers within the Aberrus laboratory, an avid adventurer will find a variety of activities and rewards in the cavern.

Whether you make friends with the Loamm Niffen or contend against Scalecommander Sarkareth in the Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible raid, there is plenty to do and explore. This guide will teach you how to navigate around the Zaralek Cavern, the best ways to experience the variety of content, and which rewards you might want to target.

How To Navigate The Zaralek Cavern

Aberrus The Shadowed Crucible Raid and Shadowflame Conduit In Zaralek Cavern Zone

The Zaralek Cavern can be accessed from three entrance locations, all of which lie at the edges of the Ohn’ahran Plains. The initial Embers of Neltharion questline will take you into the Cavern, introducing you to the major plot points that lead up to the Primalists blasting open The Throughway.

Once inside, you will need to complete a few more short quests before unlocking the full zone. A moderately sized area, the zone can be divided up into a few key areas. To the East lies the settlement of Loamm, where the Niffen race resides. This is the zone’s major quest hub, and you will be spending a lot of time in and around this area.

To the West is the Zaqali Caldera, which contains a high number of elite enemies. While Dragonriding, you will also build up stacks of Dragonslayer’s Sight which will automatically dismount you once you reach ten. Landing will help clear your stacks, but with the amount of lava and tough enemies in this section, you should take care when navigating around.

The Aberrus raid lies to the far North of the zone and does not require any pre-quests to unlock.

As with other Dragonflight zones, there are Dragon Glyphs to be found in the Zaralek Cavern, with eight in total:

  • Aberrus Approach: 48, 4
  • Acidbite Ravine: 46, 36
  • Glimmerogg: 41, 80
  • Loamm: 54, 54
  • Nal Ks’kol: 62, 70
  • Slitherdrake Roost: 55, 27
  • The Throughway: 72, 48
  • Zaqali Caldera: 30, 45

Most of these Glyphs will be found very high up in the air, with some even nestled among the stalactites in the cavern’s ceiling.
